            There's two ways to do this one! Either use an instant mix and mix it up at camp with some water, or make these delicious pancakes ahead of time and keep cool until time to cook. I find it easiest to keep ingredients stored in an airtight blender bottle. This way you can pour straight onto the pan and minimize spills and dirty dishes.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Cook on hot pan for about 1 min or until golden brown on each side. Serve with syrup, jam, or butter.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

           1/2 pound sausage

           Heat a pan over medium heat and fry sausage until done. In a separate bowl, combine eggs, milk and salt and pepper. Add over the hot sausage in the pan and scramble. Once done add cheese on top. Serve with a flour or corn tortilla.

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Cook lasagna noodles in boiling salted water until tender. In a 12" dutch oven layer, coat the bottom of the oven in pasta sauce. Layer on a layer of noodles. Add 1/4 pasta sauce and 1/4 of the cottage cheese and combine on top of noodles. Add more noodles on top and repeat until you're out of ingredients. Top with cheese. Cook with light coals on top and medium coals under until sides are bubbling and cheese is browned on top (usually about 20 mins). Rotate lid and base every 5-7 mins.

           One of the biggest reasons parents don't take their kids out hiking is their fear of "what if something happens?" And let me tell you. Something WILL happen. It's just a matter of when and are you prepared to handle it? I know I am, which is why I'm here to help you. So if you've ever felt hesitant or scared that your child will fall or get hurt in the outdoors, you're normal! And a good parent for caring. But instead of avoiding it, embrace it with the proper precautions.

I don't keep a complete kit because there would be no room for the snacks, jackets, water, and everything else you have to take when hiking with kids. But I take the necessities and keep a larger kit in the trunk of my car. That way if something major does happen, we have more supplies at the car (which usually isn't more than a mile or two away).             because they actually stay on, are soft and breathable, and super stretchy and flexible! Plus, they come in super cute prints that my kids love. I store all this inside the Welly Bandage container which works out perfectly because its durable and small.

           Introducing children to the amazing world of rock climbing can be an incredibly rewarding experience, creating a love for adventure and helping them learn valuable life skills from an early age. Whether you're a seasoned climber or new to the sport, climbing with kids requires careful planning and consideration to ensure the safety and enjoyment for the whole family. Here are my five essential tips to help you navigate the vertical terrain with your little ones.
          &#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           When introducing children to climbing, start with beginner-friendly routes that are well within their abilities. Choose climbing areas with ample opportunities for easy climbs and gentle slopes, allowing kids to build confidence and familiarity with the sport without feeling overwhelmed. Celebrate their successes and encourage them to progress at their own pace.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Try to remember that they are small and heights are a lot scarier to them than they are to you. Remember to be patient. Let them swing around and get comfortable trusting the rope and keeping their feet against the wall.

            Prioritize safety above all else when climbing with kids. Make sure that they can follow basic safety measures like staying away from the ledge when not clipped in, keeping out from under climbers, and being aware of their surroundings. If they aren't to this point yet, make sure you have another adult (besides a climber and belayer) that can help supervise.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            When the kids are ready to climb make sure their harness fits correctly and supports their back and legs. If climbing outside, make sure they are also wearing a helmet to help protect against any rocks that might fall or them bouncing around and bonking their head on the rocks.  Help them tie into the ropes, and have them practice communicating with the belayer before starting their climb.

            Keep kids motivated and engaged by making climbing sessions fun and interactive. Incorporate games, challenges, and creative activities into your climbing sessions to maintain their interest and enthusiasm. Have them be a money, swing on the rope, or pretend to be spiderman.

           If you climb up first, you can hide special rocks or treats on the wall for them to find as they climb!

           Finding the right carrier is a critical part of enjoying hiking with kids! I've tried a LOT of different framed and soft carriers for my kids and I'm here to help you make the decision that is best for you. That being said, every body type and preferences are different so make sure you try and see what works best for you and your family.

           At the core of any carrier you're going to be heading on outdoor adventures with, you want to keep in mind these 4 points.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           1. Safety Features:
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           When it comes to hiking or adventuring with a baby or small child, safety is important. Look for a carrier that offers sturdy construction, with a reliable harness system to secure your child in place and provide support. If your kids are anything like mine, making sure they have proper neck support for when they are sleeping is a big thing. Ensure that the carrier is designed to distribute weight evenly to prevent strain on your back and shoulders during long hikes. Make sure it sets the weight on your hips instead and doesn't pull you backwards or off balance.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

           2. Comfort for Both Parent and Child:

           Comfort is key for both you and your baby during extended hikes. Opt for a carrier with stirrups for your child so their legs don't fall asleep being in a carrier for extended periods of time. If you have anyone else using the carrier, make sure your carrier has  adjustable height, shoulder, and waist straps. You shouldn't feel the weight on your shoulders or back. Make sure to adjust if you're feeling discomfort during your adventures. While it's not a necessity, sun shades are a huge advantage of comfort and protection for your child and something I highly recommend.
          &#xD;

           Adventuring often involves varying terrain and weather conditions, so choose a carrier that is built to withstand the elements. Look for durable materials that are water-resistant and easy to clean, ensuring that your carrier remains in good condition for years of outdoor adventures and can handle feral children.

I highly recommend carriers with multiple pockets and compartments for easy access to necessities while on the trail. If you have multiple kids you're taking out, a pack that can pack everything is essential.

The Deuter has the most padding around for the child which is great but I also find the fabric very absorbent and needing cleaned more often. I love the adjustability and mesh back for airflow on the back!

           #1 is definantly the Osprey Poco Plus! This is the one I have and have put it through the ringer and it's held up great. It packs down so flat which is huge for me when traveling. It provides great support for the child and I love how the sunshade come down with mesh sides to help protect from UV rays on each direction while still enabling them to see out. The mesh back goes all the way down to help with airflow and has lumbar support to help ease the weight on the lower back and waist. It also has the most storage I've seen on a pack and I'm able to fit everything I need and still have plenty of room. This is the pack I recommend to everyone!
